JOIN US online for a series of 13 SHORT CONCERTS over 13 WEEKS featuring professional singers and pianists of HOS, past and present, as they share music that is important to them and why.

Starting SUNDAY, MAY 2nd, @3:00pmEDT each mini concert (approximately 30 minutes) will be available to enjoy in the comfort of your own home anytime during the week until the following Saturday. The next concert will be released the following Sunday @3:00pm and will be available for the following week.

Support these young professional artists by purchasing more than one viewing link. All funds will go toward performers' professional fees.

Spring into Summer!
Lauren Margison, Soprano; Simona Genga, Mezzo-Soprano; Vladimir Soloviev, Piano

Take an afternoon stroll through Russia with Tchaikovsky, bask in the Neapolitan sun with Mozart and Santoliquido, swoon over the the blooming of spring with Strauss, before taking a love drunk bath in the moonlight with Offenbach. Join Lauren, Simona, and Vlad on this celebration of the change of seasons.


Lauren Margison

Recognized for her ability to communicate with an audience, soprano Lauren Margison is making her mark as a young artist of note. An alumna of the Canadian Opera Company’s Ensemble Studio, she was a member of the prestigious Atelier lyrique de l'Opéra de Montréal, laureate of Jeune Ambassadrice Lyrique. She was a finalist in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg Vocal Competition and the 2018 George London Foundation Awards winner. She appeared as Mimi in a special presentation of La Boheme with Artists of the COC Ensemble at The Four Seasons Centre, was featured in the COC’s Elektra. Lauren has also appeared as a soloist in Hommage à Reynaldo Hahn with the Société d’art vocal de Montréal, in the new opera Mishaabooz’s Realm with the Highlands Opera Studio and Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, and in Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and Mozart’s Requiem with Vox Luminosa and Choeur de Laval.

Simona Genga

Mezzo Soprano Simona Genga, who is at once “compelling and technically confident” and “formidable” is a graduate of the Canadian Opera Company's Studio Ensemble Program after being awarded the First Prize and Audience Choice Awards at the 2017 COC Centre Stage Competition.  In the 18/19 season, Simona made her COC debuts as the Second Maid in Elektra under the baton of Maestro Johannes Debus, premiered the role of Cindy in Wow Factor: A Cinderella Story. Simona returned in the 19/20 season as Berta in Barber of Seville, Gertrude in Hansel and Gretel (Opera for Young Audiences), and the High Priestess in Aida. Ms. Genga was named one of the CBC's " 30 hot Canadian Classical Musicians under 30", is a proud recipient of a 2019 Ruby Mercer Award, the 2019 Third prize at the Christina and Louis Quilico Awards, the 2018 Barbara and Stanley Richman Award.

Vlad Soloviev

Described as a “pianist of fine sensitivity and rare flare” (London Free Press), Vlad Soloviev is active as a solo pianist and vocal coach. As a soloist, Vlad has performed at Weill Recital Hall (Carnegie), Salle Cortot (Paris) and more, making appearances across Canada, US, Russia, France, Italy and Sweden. Vlad has been active as a collaborator at the UofT Opera School, Highlands Opera Studio, Classic Lyric Arts (Italy), as well as a teaching artist at the Canadian Opera Company. Vlad is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music (MMus), Mannes College (PSD) and UofT (MMus Collaborative Piano). Vlad loves you all.
