Description

We recently rescued a very ill coyote, and are gratefully accepting donations towards her care.
We named her Serina (after the kind lady who helped us catch her) and this is her story:

For over a month she was seen scavenging at the Gravenhurst landfill with her sibling, looking for anything to fill her belly.  Whenever she moved, her skin, hardened and cracked from mange, caused her a lot of pain.  On top of that, she was limping on her right front leg.  As soon as we were made aware of this situation, we sent out volunteers (Yvette and her 93 yr. old mom, Serina) with a live trap.  They were able to catch her almost immediately. She was starving and was willing to risk it all for a small morsel of food.

The first 24 hrs with us at the sanctuary were critical. She was exhausted and slept a lot, giving us that extra worry that she may not wake up. But she made it through, tolerating her first dose of medications, and renewing her strength.

Serina is just a teenager coyote, who had a rough start in life. We are glad to be here for her and give her a 2nd chance.  Her sibling is still out there trying to survive, and we are trying to capture him/her too, so they can heal together at the Woodlands Spa.
