Reflections & Expressions: Spring/Summer 2021 Concert Series

JOIN US online for a series of 13 SHORT CONCERTS over 13 WEEKS featuring professional singers and pianists of HOS, past and present, as they share music that is important to them and why.

Starting SUNDAY, MAY 2nd, @3:00pmEDT each mini concert (approximately 30 minutes) will be available to enjoy in the comfort of your own home anytime during the week until the following Saturday. The next concert will be released the following Sunday @3:00pm and will be available for the following week.

Support these young professional artists by purchasing more than one viewing link. All funds will go toward performers' professional fees.

Cathy Daniel

Career highlights for Ms. Daniel include: singing Emelda Griffiths in Grammy award-winner Terence Blanchard’s opera ‘Champion’ with l’Opéra de Montréal, debuting Klytemnestra in Edmonton Opera’s production of Elektra, singing Elisabetta in Knoxville Opera’s production of Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda, and debuting at Carnegie Hall as a soloist in Haydyn’s Mass in Time of war. Ms Daniel of Edmonton studied voice with Tracy Dahl at the University of Manitoba. She was a member of the Atelier Lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, and later became a member of the Opera Studio Nederlands in Amsterdam. Catherine’s last season included returning to Montreal and Edmonton for recital engagements and making her Opera Tampa debut in Carmen singing the title role.

Dr. Roger Admiral

Canadian pianist Roger Admiral performs solo and chamber music repertoire spanning the 18th through the 21st century. He works regularly with New Music Edmonton and Aventa Ensemble (Victoria), and coaches contemporary chamber music at the University of Alberta. Roger is also Associate Lecturer in Piano at the Augustana Campus of University of Alberta. Recent performances include György Ligeti's Piano Concerto with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, the complete piano works of Iannis Xenakis for Vancouver New Music, and recitals for Curto-Circuito de Música Contemporânea Brasil, with baritone Nathan Berg at Lincoln Center's Great Performers Series, and with violinist Guillaume Tardif at Weill / Carnegie Hall. Roger will premiere Steven Takasugi's Piano Concerto with the Sudwestrundfunk Symphonieorchester for the Donaueschinger Musiktage 2020.
